British Columbia Boys Choir Celebrating the choir’s 45th anniversary, the 40 young performers will showcase songs and stories that tell the rich history of Canada from east to west: how Canada was built, our multicultural people and the vast country that we call home. O Canada Our Home is about you and me and the pride of being Canadian. The Choir has won international acclaim throughout Canada, the Netherlands, the United States, Europe, the Czech Republic, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, China, and Costa Rica. The Touring Choir is a fourpart, non-liturgical boys choir, one of the few in North America, with boys ranging in age from 7–24. Over its 45-year history, the BCBC has trained over 900 boys who have represented Canada on 35 international tours, performing a demanding repertoire spanning centuries, from Gregorian chant to contemporary works

Joining the choir on the tour will be The Abbotsford Virtuosi Violin Ensemble, created in 2001 to provide a high level performance and social opportunity for talented youth. Their annual “Songs Strings and Steps” shows draw thousands, and of particular note are their choreographed numbers which include colourful costumes. They have won numerous honours in festivals, parades and concerts. The ensemble attracts youth from across Greater Vancouver’s Fraser Valley and is directed by Calvin Dyck who has an eclectic career as teacher, violinist, conductor and adjudicator
