On February 28, the great Canadian jazz guitarist Ed Bickert passed away at the age of 86. From the mid-‘70s until his retirement in 2000, he recorded more than a dozen albums as a band leader and more than 50 records as a sideman for Paul Desmond, Rosemary Clooney, Peter Appleyard, Moe Koffman, Phil Nimmons, Rob McConnell, Ron Collier and more. His impact on Jazz in Canada, and in fact the world, cannot be overstated. This very special concert will celebrate his legacy through his music. Led by jazz guitarist Lorne Lofsky, the group is made up great jazz artists that have played with Ed Bickert over the years, who can share stories about their experiences with him and how important he was both personally and to the Jazz world.
